    Dharamshala is home to the Dalai Lama and the headquarters of the Central Tibetan Administration, formerly named Bhagatu. In 2017, Dharamshala was declared the second capital of Himachal Pradesh after Shimla. This small town is situated in the Upper Kangra Valley and is surrounded by the Dhauladhar mountain range. It is a city of coniferous forests, snow-capped hills and stunning monasteries.

    Itis a beautiful tourist spot in Himachal Pradesh where you can spend holidays with family amidst the natural peace. It’s very beautiful city and tourist place in Himachal Pradesh. It is a small and very beautiful hill station. Here the charming views of nature and the amiable behavior of local citizens is heart winning. Long queues of tea plantations and pine trees add to the beauty of the place.

    Oak, pine and timber-giving trees are found in large quantities in Dharamshala. Tourists are drawn to the beautiful Himalayan Mountains and the cold wind that cools the mind. The peak of the snow-capped mountains presents such a breathtaking view in front of the eyes that cannot be forgotten. Dharamshala in Himachal Pradesh, located in the Dhaulapar mountain range of the Himalayas, is one such tourist destination that refreshes the hearts of tourists. Dharamshala is best known for its trekking destinations. Its icy valleys are considered as the heaven for trekkers.

    Places to Visit in Dharamshala

    Dal Lake: Dal Lake is located at a distance of about 11 km from Dharamshala. You should not get confused with Dal Lake in Jammu and Kashmir. Tourists from around the world come to Dharamshala to visit this lake. Here the shade of fur trees around the lake enhances the beauty of the lake.

    Dharmkot: Dharmkot is one of the major sightseeing places near Dharamshala. It is a hill station and falls in Kangra district. The natural views of this place attract the mind.

    McLeodganj: There are many Tibetan settlements in McLeodganj. Where Tibetan artifacts, handicrafts and many items of Tibetan style are made and sold. The statue of Mahatma Buddha can also be seen in McLeodganj. This place is like a paradise for trekking lovers.

    St. John’s Church: St. John’s Church is a church built in memory of ‘Lord Elgin’, the famous sightseeing place in Dharamshala. This place attracts a large number of tourists every year. The natural beauty surrounding it adds to its charm.

    HPCA Stadium: This cricket stadium, located at an altitude of 1,457 meters above sea level, is the only high altitude stadium in the world, with beautiful snow-capped peaks in the backdrop that seem to merge into the colors of the stadium. A visit to this stadium must be in every tourist’s itinerary.

    Before choosing Dharamshala for holidays, you need to know how to reach . It’s very famous hill station in Himachal Pradesh, is quite popular among domestic and foreign tourists. Most of the tourists choose the road to come here.

    Best Time to Visit

    It is best to visit between April to June and September to October. Remember, after Cherrapunji, Dharamshala is the most rainy area in India, so you must carry an umbrella always.
